The Deathgazer is an interdimensional monster famed as being one of Greenguard Forest's most powerful beings, prior to its death.
History[]
Background[]
The Deathgazer's origin is a mystery, no one knows where it came from.[2] It is known to be at least as old as the Black Knight, if not older, and has for years been guarding his wicked armor's shoulder piece, along with other treasures,[3] from within its own dimension known only as Deathgazer's Realm. Accessible through a portal hidden between two leaning trees, the Deathgazer's Realm has been visited by countless would-be hunters who have been slaughtered by its resident who due to its many eyes is said to be impossible to sneak by.[4]
At Greenguard Forest[]
After hearing the Black Knight's tale and feelings of guilt over his cursed armor's misdeeds, the Hero agrees to gather the armor's pieces from the most powerful beings inhabiting Greenguard Forest. On this quest they fight the Basilisk, the Green Dragon, the Gell Oh No and the Deathgazer.
With the monsters beaten and armor pieces retrieved, the Hero summons the Black Knight's cursed armor and puts a stop to it for good.[5]
Red Hunting Hood challenges the Hero to hunt the deadliest beasts of Greenguard Forest, among them is the Deathgazer. After the battle the Hero brings back its eye as proof of the deed.[6]

At Love's Curse[]
In the Underworld, on their way to Moore the Hero fights the ghosts of previous foes from early adventures such as the Cyclops Warlord, Twisted Paw and the Deathgazer to retrieve the Key of True Love and Key of Eternity, both of which are held by the ghostly monsters.[7]

- Deathgazer is modeled after the Beholder from the Dungeons & Dragons franchise.
- On Shadowslayer K's orders the Hero takes takoyaki from the Deathgazer.[8] Judging by the food's round shape it might be made of Deathgazer eyes, but it could be its meat, or simply the Deathgazer has takoyaki it eats.
