General Cynari is an old high-ranking officer of Swordhaven and loyal subject of King Alteon the Good, commander of the forces of Good and representative of the Alliance both in Shadowfall and Bloodtusk Ravine.
History[]
The Alliance[]
Not long after King Alteon's fall into sickness at the hands of Chaos Drakath, the Alliance was forged between the forces of Good and Evil, with Cynari being one of the former's prolific generals.
Training the Undead[]
Tasked with delivering a message to Gravelyn on behalf of King Alteon, Cynari did not expect be asked to stay and alongside the Hero, fulfill a list of nefarious tasks against his wishes to keep the Alliance stable with the newly crowned empress.
Whether the Hero chooses Good or Evil, they are tasked to help either General Cynari or General Tibias of the Shadowscythe at the castle's central corridor. If the former is chosen the Hero is ordered by Cynari to do the following:
- Spar with 10 undead soldiers.
- Interrogate the Samurai Nopperabo of Hachiko Hotel, whom are under suspicion of Chaorruption.
- Gather puppy dogs scattered around the castle and feed them Shadow Munchers, but Cynari opts against letting the undead have them and instead convinces King Alteon to let go of prisoners to be turned in place of the puppies.
- Against Gravelyn's wish to smash a new clutch of dragon eggs in Vasalkar's Lair so that they may not stand chance to be tainted by Chaos, the Hero is told instead to save the eggs, gaining their mother's gratitude who swears to help to Alliance.
- Stop a bandit attack on villagers in a forest close to Swordhaven, which for reasons unknown to Cynari was staged by Gravelyn.
- Give the stolen candy back to Swordhaven citizens.
- To clear her mind of doubt, Gravelyn's past must be confronted. For that the Hero had to venture inside Sepulchure's Shadowfall crypt and slay the shadow of her past that took form in the image of her father.
- Slay Chaos Kind all over Lore and bring back Chaos Gems.
At Bloodtusk Ravine[]
With growing tensions between the Trolls and Horcs of Bloodtusk Ravine, their centuries-long mistrust of one another furthered by the spread of Chaos in the region and Xing and Xang's influence, General Cynari along with Tibias were called forth to stop full-blown war. After three days, the general and his undead counterpart arrived to impose martial law in Bloodtusk, outlawing carrying of weapons, establishing a curfew and prohibiting congregations between more than two persons.
Cynari was in charge of calming down the Trolls and Tibias handled the Horcs. Besides that, Cynari also took the care to study the region, strategize and devise plans at the Alliance Embassy.
Cynari, seduced by Chaos.
With the Hero's vain efforts to de-escalate the situation and Trolls and Horcs increasing discomtempt with Tibias' and Cynari's authoritarian ways of keeping the peace, war broke loose, but not between Trolls and Horcs. Influenced by Xing and Xang, the two peoples united against the Alliance and with the Hero's reluctant help stormed their shared keep in the region. Also influenced by the Chaos Twins were Tibias and Cynari who prepared themselves to kill the incoming attackers. Some of their soldiers were completely overtaken by Chaorruption.
After the bloody battle, with martial law uplifted and Cynari and his men alongside Tibias and his minions having lost, they were ready to march back to Swordhaven and Shadowfall, respectively. Unfortunately, the Chaos Twins reappear to Chaorrupt their armies, apprehend them inside the Ore Cavern and mount up defenses against the Hero. After Khasaanda kills her brother and becomes the new 9th Chaos Lord, she orders the remaining soldier to free Cynari as well as Tibias.
